Hays Webb is the District Attorney of The Sixth Judicial Circuit of Alabama, which encompasses Tuscaloosa County. He was appointed by Governor Robert Bentley in September, 2016, to serve out the term of his predecessor. He was subsequently elected to a full term by the citizens of Tuscaloosa County on November 8, 2016.
Hays enlisted in the United States Marine Corps at the age of seventeen and served from 1985 to 1989. He received his B.S. in Horticulture from Auburn University in 1993 and his J.D. from the University of Alabama, School of Law in 1997.
Hays worked as an Assistant Public Defender for Tuscaloosa County from 1997 to 2001 when he left to pursue a career in private practice as a founding partner of the law firm, Turner & Webb, PC. Hays has been a frequent speaker on Criminal Law topics
